Where are we

170 km, to Brisbane Airport, 2 hours north of Brisbane, 15 km east of Gympie, 30 km from Cooloola Coast, as the crow flies , 300 km south of the Tropic of Capricorn

Coming by car from the south there are several options. 1. You can stay on the Bruce highway till you get to the outskirts of Gympie. You will see big signs to Rainbow beach and Tin Can Bay, turning off to the right. Follow the signs, until about 4 km outside of Gympie you see a big sign "Cedar Pocket Road" to the right. From the Cedar Pocket Road turnoff it is 10 km to the Cedar Pocket Dam. Then you cross a little wooden bridge. Soon you see the concrete wall of the Cedar Pocket Dam on your right. Then you see the water. On your left is Gayatri's Gate. See picture. 2. If you want to do some shopping in Gympie, just continue on the highway, and you come to a shopping centre with Aldi's on your left and Woollies on your right. The easiest way to Gayatri is to continue on the highway to the second next traffic lights with a chicken place on the right hand corner. Turn right there, keep going till you come to a T- intersection, and turn left. Stay on the main road, out of town, crossing the railway, passing a petrol station. Keep going for about 4 km till you come to the next T-intersection. Go left again. Soon you'll see the sign to Cedar Pocket Road. From the Cedar Pocket Road turnoff it is 10 km to the Cedar Pocket Dam. Then you cross a little wooden bridge. Soon you see the concrete wall of the Cedar Pocket Dam on your right.
